Intermediate Wheel Throwing - 6 weeks

Intermediate wheel throwing - 6 weeks

with Mario

This 6-week session is designed for intermediate ceramic students who wish to deepen their practice on the wheel and further develop technical control, precision, and intention. Each session is built around a specific theme, allowing participants to thoroughly explore different forms and throwing techniques.

Themes may include: general refinement on the wheel, plates, large bowls, vases, teapots, and other advanced forms. The goal is to strengthen your independence, refine your technique, and learn how to work more confidently with larger amounts of clay.

While each course follows a defined theme, participants are also encouraged to bring and develop their own personal projects on the wheel with guidance from the instructor.

Prerequisites: This course is intended for students who have completed at least two beginner sessions, or who have equivalent experience. You must be able to confidently center clay independently. If you are unsure, please consult your instructor or contact us.

  • A 4-session Independent Practice Pass is included with this course.
You’ll receive an email during your first week of class with information on how to access it!

Practice is essential for making progress. For an additional fee, you can come to the studio to apply what you’ve learned in class and continue working on your projects during independent practice time.

  • You will receive an email approximately one month after your session, once your ceramic pieces are ready for pickup. Be sure to check your spam or junk folder!

You will then have 2 weeks to come pick up your pieces during our designated pickup hours. Please bring the email with you. If you are unavailable, you may ask someone else to pick up your pieces — they must show your email as proof.

After the 2-week period, any unclaimed pieces will be donated.

Please note that your piece may crack or break during firing — pottery takes practice! This is why this workshop is focused on the experience, not the final result.
