Our Independent Practice is a 4-week membership for new or experienced potters, the opportunity to practice independently in our fully furnished studio.

What’s Included

  • 4 x 3-hour Independent Practice sessions
To be used within 4 weeks of purchase. You book your four practices based on the calendar availabilities.

  • Access to the member calendar, which offers practice slots every day of the week.

  • 5 kg of clay of your choice from our available selection.

  • Use of studio equipment: tables, hand tools, molds, and house glazes.

  • Kiln firing of your finished work, handled by our staff.

  • Total flexibility: Book your 4 sessions within the 4 weeks that follow your purchase based on the calendar availabilities.

  • Independent Practice sessions are designed for experienced potters who are comfortable working autonomously and want dedicated time in the studio to deepen their skills, experiment, or focus on personal projects.

These sessions are not guided classes—they are an opportunity to practice at your own pace, outside of a structured course.

    Who Is It For?

    • Students who have completed our 6-week beginner course with us (or equivalent experience).

    • Makers who are comfortable using studio tools and equipment independently.

    • Anyone looking to continue their ceramic practice in a supportive, self-directed environment.

    How It Works

    • Each Independent Practice session is 3 hours long.

    • You will be working on your own, without instruction.

    • A studio monitor will be present to ensure safety and answer basic logistical questions, but not to provide teaching.

    Important Guidelines

    • Arrive on time to take full advantage of your session.

    • Cleanup begins 25 minutes before the end of your session—please plan accordingly.

    • You are responsible for leaving your workspace clean and organized.

  • To join, you must be comfortable with the basic techniques taught in our 6-week beginner course and able to work independently in the studio.

  • If you haven’t taken classes with us before, please fill out the form below before registering. This allows us to confirm that independent practice is the right fit for you.

You’ll also need to schedule a 30-minute glazing demonstration, required for all new members.

    • Cost: $30 + tax

    • This must be completed before your first independent practice session.

    • If you haven’t taken classes with us before, please fill out the form below before registering.

    • Purchase your 4-week membership online.

    • After registration, you will receive a booking code (e.g., ABC123).

    • Use this code to reserve your sessions through the member calendar.

    • Follow the steps in our Booking Guide to schedule your 4 practice sessions.

  • Independent Practice – Rebooking & No-Show Policies

    • You can reschedule your sessions yourself using the link in your confirmation email.
