Beginner Wheel Throwing $420

Beginner - the fundamental principles

Wednesday - September 18 to October 23, 18:00 - 21:00 with Meriel

Friday - September 20 to October 25, 18:00 - 21:00 with Jeff (english instruction only)

During this six-week session, you'll learn how to wedge your clay, manage its humidity, centre it on the wheel, pull up the walls, move from a cylinder to a bowl and explore different shapes. You'll learn how to trim and refine your piece, decorate it and, finally, glaze it. No experience necessary, this class is ideal for beginners!

  • This is a six-week session with a three-hour weekly class.

  • You'll receive 5 kg of your choice of clay from our studio, including glazing and firing.

  • Two 2-hour open studio sessions are included in the class price.

Practice is essential. For an additional fee, you can come to the studio to practice what you've learned in class and continue working on your projects during our open studio. The first two open studios (atelier libre) in the first two weeks of the course are included. If you already know you'd like to book more time, go to the Open Studio page to purchase additional practice sessions in the studio. You can always e-mail us to book additional sessions.

Please read the studio guide and terms of service before your first session to review our rescheduling and refund policy.
