Throwing JAM!

$40.00

THROWING JAM! is an event to be with community, practice, play, improvise, and have fun on the wheel without any expectation of producing finished work. Following a brief setting of intentions, participants will be supplied with an abundance of recycled clay, then we all wedge, center, pull, and start again, exploring forms, techniques, and quantities of clay without the pressures of an end result. Each student is supplied with as much clay as they would like to work with (within reasonable restrictions)! This is the perfect opportunity to understand the limits of our materials - come try throwing as thin as you can, with larger amounts of clay, or with new techniques that you’re interested in trying out!

Light facilitation and supervision will be offered in English by our wonderful teacher Jeff. Please note, this is a space of personal exploration and community sharing, not a class. Questions are welcome, but long-form technical teachings will not be offered.

Anyone who has previously taken over 4 weeks of throwing classes is welcome. This minimum experience is required!

Pieces may be kept at an additional fee.
