Refine your wheel-throwing pottery practice during this 4-week course. In a small group, you will benefit from personalised guidance to deepen your techniques and develop your own projects at your own pace.

Each session will give you the opportunity to work on targeted techniques such as centering, throwing, trimming, and glazing.

Prerequisites: Completion of a 6-week beginner wheel-throwing course or an intermediate course, and the ability to glaze independently. If necessary, a glazing course must be completed beforehand.

Included

  • 4 weeks of classes

  • 5 kg of clay of your choice

  • Selection of glazes and underglazes

  • Firing of your pieces

Please note: We ask that you take the time to read all the information on this page and our studio guide before your class.

  • A Few Recommendations Before Making Pottery

    • Keep your nails short

    • Do not wear rings, bracelets, or watches

    • Wear clothing and shoes suitable for a workshop.

  • Week 1 — Wedging, Centering & Throwing: Focus on techniques and creation of forms.
    Week 2 — Trimming: Finishing and working on pieces.
    Week 3 — Autonomous Practice: Developing your projects with guidance from the instructor.
    Week 4 — Glazing: Discovering glazing techniques and finalizing pieces.

  • You will receive an email approximately 1 month after your class, when your pieces are ready. Remember to check your spam or junk folder!

    You will then have 2 weeks to pick up your pieces during our pickup hours. Please present your email when picking them up. If you are unable to come in person, someone of your choice can pick them up for you with proof of your email.

    After this period, any unclaimed pieces will be donated.

    Ceramics is a delicate process: your pieces may crack or break during drying or firing. Pottery takes practice! That’s why our introductory classes are primarily focused on the experience and learning, rather than the final result.

    Need to miss a class during your session? You can benefit from one free independent make-up practice session per session.
